At the AATC, our primary and foremost focus is the importance of the role of the coach in providing the athlete with a safe environment in which to learn and practice.
All sports come with their own risk of injury, and this risk is heightened without due care and attention to the pitfalls that surround them. It is expected that our coaches will minimise this risk with careful planning and an understanding of the dangers that may present themselves. With careful planning, these risks can be minimized.
No matter how much care and attention is taken, injuries will inevitably occur from time to time. As a coach, you should be prepared to deal with all situations that may arise.
We, as coaches, are concerned with the prevention, immediate care, and rehabilitation of injuries to their athletes.
We recommend all our coaches receive professional training from relevant Level One and Level Two First Aid certificates in their area.
