At the AATC, our primary and foremost focus is the importance the role of the coach is to provide the athlete with a safe environment in which to learn and practice in.
All sports come with their risk of injury and this risk is heightened without the due care and attention to the pitfalls that surround them. It is expected that our coaches will minimise this risk with careful planning and an understanding of the dangers that may present itself. With careful planning, these risks can be minimised.
No matter how much care and attention is taken, injuries will inevitably occur from time to time. As a coach you should be prepared to deal with all situations that may arise.
We as coaches are concerned with the prevention, immediate care, and rehabilitation of injuries to their athletes.
We recommend all our coaches receive professional training from relevant Level One and Level Two First Aid certificates in their area.
